Due to Bush’s “emergency requests”, it is virtually impossible for the nation to track Iraq spending. The decision to “surge” forces this winter would only exacerbate the problem.

Congress should look now towards preventing future Iraqs, the creation of more terrorists and years of global mistrust and conflict which could run a great cost to national security.

To blame the Democrats for lack of cohesion is senseless. A party in the minority never has one spokesperson. But is it having a 2002 debate in 2006?

Despite past protestations, the administration, with Congress’ complicity, makes another end-run around defense-spending scrutiny.
