Neither Trump nor Biden can arrest the growing global disarray caused by the rise of regional great powers, they can only hope to manage it. The multipolar world in all of its complexity is here to stay. The crucial difference between the two candidates is in how to respond to China. In this instance, a Biden victory may unfortunately lead the U.S. further into the depths of economic dependence on Beijing rather than gaining much-needed freedom of maneuver.
