South Koreans Might Be Willing to Pay More for the U.S. Military’s Protection—But Only Under These Conditions

Survey data shows that any discussion about increased costs to South Korea for the continued presence of U.S. troops must focus on what those additional payments will provide.

Timothy S. Rich is an associate professor of political science at Western Kentucky University and director of the International Public Opinion Lab (IPOL). His research focuses on public opinion and electoral politics, with a focus on East Asian democracies.
