Can Central Asia Be a Broker for the Syria Conflict?

Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan need regional stability and security in order to conduct necessary economic reforms.

To sum it up, the common security challenges for Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan in the geographically complicated and constrained Eurasian heartland push these countries to follow somewhat similar policies towards the Syria crisis and other challenges. Both countries are also bound by a common interest in implementation of regional economic and transportation projects in and throughout the heartland of Eurasia, like the recent important agreement between Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Georgia on an East-West transportation route.
