Here's How the US Can Defeat ISIS

The U.S. may be engaged in a complex military battle with ISIS, but let’s not forget that America’s main goals in Iraq are political.

Torrey Taussig is a Doctoral Candidate and H.B. Earhart Fellow at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University. She focuses on issues relating to U.S. foreign policy, international security and American diplomatic and military history. Her research focuses on America's leadership role in the Middle East.

Shahla Al Kli is a Doctoral Candidate at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University. From the Kurdistan region in Iraq, Shahla is a former senior advisor to the Speaker of the Kurdistan Parliament, and former Country Director for Counterpart International's Iraq programs. Shahla's research focuses on the impact of religious and ethnic transnational communities on state durability in Iraq, Iran and Syria.
