5 Reasons U.S. Aircraft Carriers Are More Vulnerable Than Ever

This essay highlights the increasing vulnerabilities of aircraft carriers in modern warfare. With advancements in technology such as Unmanned Underwater Vehicles (UUVs), Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), anti-ship ballistic missiles like China's "Carrier Killer" missiles, hypersonic weapons, and the ever-present nuclear threat, the once-dominant aircraft carrier faces significant challenges.

There are, of course, more threats to an aircraft carrier.

Further, an aircraft carrier is not totally undefended. But the point of this essay was to show you how so many of our most trusted defense systems are being overwhelmed by new technologies, such as those listed above.

The carrier’s days are coming to an end. It’d be nice if Washington wouldn’t sacrifice these behemoths on the altar of its vanity.
