Bringing the Boom: The 5 Most Amazing Photos from the U.S. Military Last Week

Take a look.

From live exercises in Europe to training here in the states, this week’s best photos features both land and air units that are stationed both foreign and domestic.

In one photo we see a High Mobility Artillery Rocket System test a live rocket in the Adazi Training Area in Latvia. Roughly 27 nations and more than 3,000 service members are in the country for Exercise Dynamic Front 19.

The Thunderbirds are preparing for its annual tour around the U.S. You can see Capt. Michelle Curran get within inches of her fellow captain while training over the Creech Air Force Base in Nevada.

In Germany, paratroopers with the 173rd Airborne Brigade are conducting live-fire exercises.

Here at home, Marines from Fox Company are on the ‘big island’ train to defend themselves from an infantry assault. The group used machine gun suppression and mortar fire on simulated enemy forces. This is an annual test.

And finally, some freestyle drill team training at Keesler Air Force Base in Mississippi. Airmen volunteer to learn and execute drill down routines as they compete in quarterly inspections. The AFB trains more than 30,000 students each year.
