QUANTICO MARINE BASE, Va. – Electronics distributor CDW Government LLC in Vernon Hills, Ill., will provide the U.S. Marine Corps with as many as 6,800 rugged laptop computers under terms of a potential $26.7 million three-year contract announced last week.

Officials of the Marine Corps Systems Command at Quantico Marine Base, Va., are asking CDW to provide as many as 6,800 Panasonic CF-20 Toughbook rugged computers and accessories.

The Panasonic CF-20 Toughbook is a rugged lightweight laptop able to detach and become a 10.1-inch tablet computer. It has a magnesium alloy chassis and is certified to MIL-STD-810G and IP65 for shock, vibration, and moisture.

The rugged laptop computers weighs 3.9 pounds, and have built-in handles that function as kickstands. The bridge battery allows hot-swap battery replacement without disruption. The display is sunlight-viewable for use in harsh-environment outdoor environments.

The Panasonic CF-20 Toughbook runs the Windows 10 operating system; provides 17 hours of operation with optional second battery; has connection to USB, MicroSDXC, HDMI, Ethernet, serial, audio in/out, Nano-SIM, and a docking connector.

On this contract for battlefield computers CDW will do the work in Vernon Hills, Ill., and should be finished by July 2022. For more information contact CDW Government online at www.cdwg.com, Panasonic at https://na.panasonic.com, or Marine Corps Systems Command at www.marcorsyscom.marines.mil.
