WCP320: How Wilson and Sig Sauer Joined Forces on a New 9mm Gun

Could this take on Glock?

The P320 has been called Sig Sauers answer to the Glock, and a variant of the P320 was even adopted by the U.S. Army as the M17. Its light recoil and reliability have made the nine-millimeter Sig P320 a favorite for the military, law enforcement and civilian shooters alike. It provides numerous customizations yet remains fairly standard in its design.

It would seem it would be hard to improve on such a solid platform, but the Sig Sauer’s recent collaboration with Wilson Combat has resulted in the new 9mm WCP320.

This could just be the best collaborative effort since the Shelby Mustang of the 1960s!

And while it isn’t a true “custom firearm,” it is truly the next best thing—not to mention a whole lot more affordable while still putting something special in the hands. Wilson Combat gunsmiths and engineers were able to rework the Sig Sauer P320 chassis and unfinished Sig-manufactured slide and the result is the most ideal version of a high-performance striker-fired pistol to enter the market. It features a Wilson Combat polymer grip module that was designed for enhanced traction, smoother reloading, improved pointability, and, most notably, superb recoil control, all of which make this a top choice for shooting and self-defense.

The pistol’s slide has been machined with the Wilson Combat X-TAC pattern that provides improved manipulation under stress. In addition, the front and rear cocking serrations, as well as the slide top, wear this signature Wilson Combat pattern. The WCP320’s stainless steel slide and Chromoly barrel also feature the most advanced black DLC (Diamond-Like-Carbon) physical vapor deposition finish available, while the finish has chromium and tungsten underlayers for long-lasting corrosion and abrasion resistance—ensuring this near custom-looking handgun will remain pretty even after regular use.

The WCP320 is slightly larger than the standard P320 at 8.25-inches long and 1.4-inches wide, however, the 5.5-inches height is nearly the same. However, the longer slide aids in a longer sight radius of 6.7-inches. Unloaded, the pistol weighs in at 29.2 oz (36.7 oz. loaded). It has a magazine capacity of seventeen rounds.

The Sig Sauer flat-faced XFULL trigger is a standard feature on the WCP320 and gives shooters a lower finger position on the trigger which increases leverage for a lighter, smoother trigger pull. That pull can be further enhanced by Wilson Combat gunsmiths with our optional action tune using Grayguns custom trigger parts. The Sig/Wilson Combat P320 is available now starting at $1,195.

While quite bit more than the standard P320, it is safe to say the Wilson Combat tweaks make this much more than the standard P320. As noted it isn't a custom handgun, but it does offer many of the features found in a custom job. For those who want the absolute best but need to settle for something similar, this is a fine middle ground.
