Countering Russia’s African Strategy

Russia’s approach to Africa is anything but haphazard. Ignoring it risks allowing the continent to become Moscow’s supply depot.

 

America underestimates Russian influence in Africa at its own peril. Countering Russian attempts to turn African nations into supply depots and supporters for Putin’s current—or next—war is firmly in the interests of the United States and the international community. To accomplish this, the United States must pay greater attention to an area of the world that is all too often neglected to the detriment of its interests.
