How Franchi Redesigned the Momentum Elite (Hunters Will Love This Rifle)
Franchi is known for making high-quality firearms at affordable prices, and the Momentum Elite is the perfect example of this.
Franchi recently revamped their Momentum rifle to create the new and improved Momentum Elite. They’ve kept all the features that users loved about the original Momentum, but added some finishing touches that really make it a stand-out for hunters. Just grab your Elite and any personal protection gear you have, and you’re ready for the perfect day of hunting.
The Elite is a three-lug, bolt-action rifle with a 60-degree throw to better accommodate large optics. Many hunters like to mount their scopes as low as possible for a better field of view, and the Elite’s short throw makes this possible. It comes equipped with a one-piece Picatinny rail for quick and easy mounting, and through all the ammo I’ve tested, I’ve maintained an average .6” 3-shot group from 100 yards.
The Elite’s new trigger also aids a great deal with accurate shooting. It’s adjustable from 2 to 4 lbs, and has a crisp pull with no discernable creep. In my opinion, the trigger is one of the Momentum Elite’s best new features.
The Elite also includes a number of features intended to reduce felt recoil, the first of which is sling attachment points molded into the recesses in the forend and buttstock. Since these points do not protrude from the stock, there’s no risk of hurting your hand under recoil. It also includes a multi-ported muzzle brake, which can be removed to expose 5/8x24 threads for installing a suppressor.
To further aid in recoil reduction, Franchi has added a pair of recoil lugs near the front action screw, embedded in a “V” shape to ensure the action remains centered in the stock and won’t move under recoil. Like the original Momentum, any remaining excessive recoil is absorbed by a TSA pad. With all of these features included, even hard-kicking loads aren’t unpleasant to shoot.
The Elite comes with two center-fed, detachable box magazines. One fits flush with the stock, and the other is extended so it protrudes a bit. There are eight different gauges available and they all have different capacities, but my .223 Remington gauge has a 4+1 capacity for the standard size and an 8+1 capacity for the extended size. The magazine release is conveniently located in the trigger guard.
The Momentum Elite comes in two different barrel sizes: 22” or 24”. This brings the overall length to either 44.25” or 46.25” respectively, and the average weight is between 7-7.5 lbs for all models. Franchi is famous for its competitive pricing, and the Elite is available for around $800 to $900.
Franchi is known for making high-quality firearms at affordable prices, and the Momentum Elite is the perfect example of this. The redesigned rifle includes all the original features that shooters love about the original Momentum, with some upgrades designed specifically for hunters. It’s soft-shooting and accurate, making it perfect for hunters of any skill level.
