How Britain’s New Foreign Policy Will Take on the Middle East

Despite laudably positive talk of promoting prosperity, protection, and values in the region, the reality of achieving these objectives is questionable

We can, therefore, see how China threatens and contradicts British objectives in the region, and that a more robust strategy (or at least a strategy) is needed if Britain does truly want to achieve its objectives.

This all points back to Britain’s overarching goal, which is not to focus on the area east of Suez, but far east of Suez. The Middle East flies mostly under the radar in this review. That means, despite laudably positive talk of promoting prosperity, protection, and values in the region, the reality of achieving these objectives becomes questionable when examined next to a geostrategic threat (or even factor).
