Many of Trump’s unbending critics have professed a concern for democratic “norms” that the president is said to be disregarding. It’s hard to take that seriously when the norms of skeptical journalism are shredded by those whose rage against Donald Trump and the people who voted for him has driven them to paranoia and fury. Trump is already guilty of being Donald Trump, and the rest is just details—which an ambitious prosecutor will be all too happy to fill in.
