Three days into November — possibly — the election will be over, giving those who have been officially following it some much-needed free time. And with the pandemic continuing, there’s plenty of new stuff on Netflix throughout the month. Some highlights :

- “A Clockwork Orange” (November 1.) Stanley Kubrick’s controversial 1971 film, about a group of milk-swilling “droogs” who engage in mayhem throughout London, hits Netflix the first of the month, after not being available to stream for a long time.

- “Boyz N the Hood” (November 1.) This 1991 film, from the late director John Singleton, starred a young Cuba Gooding, Jr., Ice Cube and Morris Chestnut dealing with the pressures of gang life in Los Angeles.

- “Christmas Break-in” (November 1.) Netflix has plans for many holiday-themed movies across November December, and the first of them to arrive is this 2018 comedy, a “Home Alone”-inspired tale about a 9-year-old girl who fights off a pair of bad guys around Christmastime. The film co-stars Danny Glover and Denise Richards.

- “Ocean’s Eleven” (November 1.) This all-star heist movie, starring George Clooney, Matt Damon, Julia Roberts, Brad Pitt and many others as they attempt to knock off a trio of Las Vegas casinos, is headed to Netflix at the start of the month.

- “Platoon” (November 1.) The Best Picture winner in 1986, “Platoon” was a Vietnam War epic, directed by Oliver Stone and starring Charlie Sheen, Willem Dafoe, Tom Berenger, and much use of Barber’s “Adagio For Strings.”

- “Operation Christmas Drop” (November 5.) Another Netflix Christmas movie is this original, a romantic comedy based on a true holiday tradition. The film stars Kat Graham and Alexander Ludwig was the titular couple.

- “Fruitvale Station” (November 12.) Director Ryan Coogler went on to direct “Creed” and “Black Panther,” but his first film was this, the 2013 drama about the final days of Oscar Grant (Michael B. Jordan), a young man killed by a transit police officer in Oakland in 2009.

- “The Crown” (November 15.) The fourth season of Netflix’s original series about the life of Queen Elizabeth II debuts in mid-November, with Olivia Colman stepping into the role of the queen. Charles Dance, who played Tywin Lannister on “Game of Thrones,” will play Louis Mountbatten, while Gillian Anderson will portray Margaret Thatcher.

- “We Are The Champions” (November 17.) This original series, featuring a look at unusual competitions, debuts its first season this month. Rainn Wilson, from “The Office,” is the host of the sshow.

- “Hillbilly Elegy.” This movie, directed by Ron Howard and based on J.D. Vance’s popular memoir, features Glenn Close and Amy Adams, and is expected to go down this year as an Oscar contender.

- “Mosul.” The first feature film about the war against ISIS, “Mosul” was directed by Matthew Michael Carnahan and was produced by “Avengers” filmmakers Anthony and Joe Russo.
